LOS ANGELES – In honor of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games that begin in one week, the LA28 organizing committee Wednesday unveiled its custom emblem to celebrate the upcoming competitions as the city of Los Angeles prepares to host the events in four years.
“It will be a historic moment when the Paralympic flag gets handed over to LA on the world’s stage in September, marking the first time LA becomes the next host city for the Paralympic Games,” LA28 chief marketing officer Amy Gleeson said in a statement.
“To honor this milestone, we are releasing a custom Paralympic handover emblem, with more emblems to come as we celebrate Paralympians throughout the Paris Games and look ahead to an incredible handover celebration that’s authentic to the LA28 Games.”

With a nod to the Olympic handover “A” emblem that was released July22 showcasing the passing of the flag from Paris to LA, the custom Paralympic emblem has its own look to commemorate the moment when the Paralympic flag will be handed over from Paris to Los Angeles at the closing ceremony on Sept. 8.
The custom Paralympic “A” is the 50th custom design in LA28’s campaign that launched in 2020, capturing the stories of Angelenos, athletes, artists and activists, the committee said.
Set against a “L, 2 and 8” that serve as the mark’s foundation, the LA28 emblem was built for the digital age with an “A” that is “always evolving in its journey to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” the organizing committee said.
ADVERTISEMENTThroughout the Olympic Games, LA28 released seven new emblems from athletes and artists, and will continue to drop custom designs throughout the Paris’ Paralympic Games, according to LA28 officials.
The LA28 games will be Los Angeles’ third time hosting the Olympics, following previous events in 1984 and 1932.
